GameBeeper (“we”, “us”) is committed to being transparent about how the site works and what, if any, data touches your browser. This policy explains our practices in plain language.
// What we collect
GameBeeper collects almost nothing. Specifically:
Analytics (optional, consent-based). If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data — page views, approximate geography, device type, and interaction events (e.g., feed refresh, article clicks). GA4 sets cookies and sends data to Google's servers. You can decline analytics at any time via the cookie banner or by clearing the relevant localStorage key (gp:analytics:consent).
Browser localStorage. Your preferences (bookmarks, My Pulse filters, view mode, auto-refresh interval) are stored entirely in your own browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to GameBeeper servers.
No account, no registration. GameBeeper has no user accounts, no login, and no server that receives personal data from you.
// What we do NOT collect
No advertising pixels or ad-tech tracking scripts.
No session-recording or heatmap tools (e.g., Hotjar, FullStory).
No fingerprinting.
No email addresses (unless you contact us voluntarily).
No selling of any data to third parties — ever.
// Third-party services
Google Fonts. We load typefaces (Inter, JetBrains Mono) from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log font requests. See Google's Privacy Policy.
CORS proxy services. To work around browser same-origin restrictions when fetching RSS feeds, requests are routed through one of several free CORS proxies (api.codetabs.com, corsproxy.io, allorigins.win, etc.). Only the RSS feed URL is sent — no personal information.
PayPal (optional donation). If you choose to donate, you are redirected to PayPal's own site. We receive only your transaction confirmation. See PayPal's Privacy Policy.
// Cookies
GameBeeper itself sets no first-party cookies. All your preferences are stored in localStorage, not cookies. If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics 4 will set cookies (typically _ga, _ga_*) for measurement purposes. You can block these cookies via your browser settings or by declining the cookie banner.
// Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the EU/EEA or California, you have rights over your data. Because GameBeeper holds no personal data itself, most rights are exercised directly:
localStorage data persists until you clear it. GA4 data is retained for 14 months by default (configurable in Google Analytics settings) and then automatically deleted.
// Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Because GameBeeper has no account system, we cannot notify you individually — please check back periodically.
